When we think of therapy, people typically imagine two individuals talking. Experiential therapy on the other hand, is a form of therapy that involves immersing yourself in a certain experience. This form of therapy uses tools like role-playing, psychodrama, music, poetry, arts, and animal therapy. Experiential therapy focuses on action. Action matters because when a person is bodily engaged, they have access to psychological elements they wouldn’t have access to otherwise. Action can also be a precursor to change—by acting in a new way, a person can think in new ways. Therapists at The Moore Resilient Group are trained in and can use experiential methods to help you articulate your needs and address negative perceptions and patterns as a pivotal step in change.
